Shield & Route: Armor for Your Electrical Lifelines
Cables are the lifelines of any electronic system, but they are also vulnerable. Without proper protection, wire insulation can easily be compromised by abrasion, sharp edges, moisture, or heat, leading to short circuits and system failures.
DM Corporation’s Cable Protection & Routing line provides professional-grade shielding and organization solutions for every stage of an installation. Whether you are routing a harness through a vehicle chassis, organizing a messy desk setup, or protecting sensitive connections from the elements, our products ensure your wiring remains intact, organized, and aesthetically pleasing. These are essential consumables for delivering a finished product that looks as good as it performs.
Spiral Cable Wrap
Flexible Routing with Easy Breakout Points
Spiral Cable Wrap offers a unique advantage over other bundling methods: flexibility and “breakout” capability.6 Unlike solid tubing, spiral wrap allows cables to enter or exit the bundle at any point along its length.7 This makes it the ultimate solution for complex setups like computer desks, robotic arms, or control panels where wires need to branch off to different devices.
It creates a firm, protective bundle that moves with your equipment. If you need to make changes later, the wrap can be easily unwound and reused.
Key Features & Applications:
Cable Breakouts: Perfect for routing bundles where individual wires need to exit at different locations (e.g., mouse, keyboard, and monitor cables splitting from a main bundle).
High Flexibility: Moves freely with robotic or articulated equipment without restricting motion.
Reusability: Can be removed and re-applied quickly during maintenance or upgrades.
Appearance: Transforms a “rat’s nest” of wires into a single, cohesive, and professional-looking spiral.
Braided Sleeving
Professional Aesthetics & Breathable Protection
For a high-end, custom look that also offers superior protection, professionals turn to Braided Sleeving. Often used in gaming PC builds, A/V racks, and automotive modification, this expandable PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) mesh slides easily over large connectors and then tightens down to form a sleek, form-fitting skin around the cable.8
Beyond aesthetics, it offers excellent abrasion resistance and allows heat to escape through the mesh, preventing heat build-up in high-power applications.
Key Features & Applications:
Expandability: The mesh construction can expand up to 150% of its initial diameter, allowing it to slide over large plugs and connectors before shrinking back for a tight fit.9
Professional Aesthetic: Provides the “custom sleeved” look highly sought after in visible cable runs and custom electronics.
Breathable Protection: protects against cuts and abrasion without trapping heat or moisture.
Cut-Resistant: Tough mesh fibers resist slicing and gnawing (sometimes used as pest deterrent for cables).
Heat Shrink Tubing
Seal, Insulate, and Protect in One Step
Heat Shrink Tubing is the electrical insulator’s best friend. When heated, this polymer tubing shrinks radially to form a tight, permanent seal around wires, splices, and terminals. It is critical for repairing damaged insulation, strain-relieving solder joints, and color-coding wiring phases.
We offer both standard Thin-Wall tubing for general insulation and Dual-Wall (Adhesive Lined) tubing. The dual-wall variant contains an inner layer of glue that melts when heated, waterproofing the connection and bonding the tubing to the wire for ultimate weather protection.
Key Features & Applications:
Electrical Insulation: Re-insulates bare wire and spliced connections to prevent short circuits (rated for 600V+).
Strain Relief: stiffens the area where a wire enters a connector, preventing the wire from breaking due to flexing.
Dual-Wall Adhesive: Creates a watertight, environmental seal, essential for marine and outdoor applications.
Identification: Available in various colors (Red, Black, Green, etc.) for coding power, ground, and data lines.
